Mian Tariq Aziz, a self-made businessman with a passion for property. I was born and raised in Faislabad, Pakistan before moving to the United Kingdom in the 90’s. My journey began in the knitwear industry with 2 successful companies Duha Knitwear Ltd and Best Choice Clothing, where I honed my entrepreneurial skills. Since 2004, I’ve focused on building a successful property portfolio. Moving into the property sector full time in 2007 specialising in commercial property and building another successful business – Duha Properties Ltd. Through dedication and strategic networking, I’ve established valuable connections in the industry. I am also actively engaged with the Pakistani community in Manchester, fostering connections and supporting local initiatives. My journey reflects resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to making a positive impact.
In 2017, Faisal was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Warrington South, United Kingdom. Winning the seat back for the Labour Party after 7 years of Conservative rule. Since entering parliament, he was appointed as a member of the International Trade Select Committee, responsible for scrutinizing Britain’s overseas trade policy and ensuring that the Government
builds sustainable, long-term links between the UK and international markets.
Faisal founded and chaired the All-Party Parliamentary Group on the Belt & Road Initiative and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, a cross-party forum promoting UK awareness and understanding of both global trading initiatives. He also chaired the All-Party Parliamentary Groups for Business Support and Engagement, Healthcare Infrastructure and Trade Justice. Before his election to parliament in 2017, Faisal was the Mayor of Warrington – the first ever Asian/Muslim Mayor in Warrington’s 170-year mayoral history. As Mayor, Faisal sought to build a stronger and more cohesive community promoting values of acceptance, peace, and harmony devoid of prejudice about colour, race, and religion. He also initiated many business and community projects, leaving an enduring legacy behind. Faisal has been an ardent supporter of several local charities.
Faisal has an extensive experience in the financial sector, local government and parliament. Before his involvement in politics, Faisal enjoyed a 20-year-long career in the banking and finance industry in the UK. Faisal worked at Natwest Bank (RBS Group) and HBOS before establishing his business.
Faisal is a Founder of Westminster Finance Limited, FR Mortgages Ltd and FR Management Consultant Ltd.
The President of Pakistan awarded Faisal Sitar-I-Quaid-E-Azam in 2021, one of the highest awards in the country.
